While there was a significant net drawdown of crude oil inventories of 2.6 million barrels, Cushing inventories rose 588,000, which was much more than expected and double the amount reported by the API.… Read more

Last night, the API report gave the market some support, after it showed another overall decline in US crude oil inventories. The HSBC flash manufacturing PMI for August fell to a three-month low to 50.3 versus expectations of 51.5.
